A North Carolina teenager who studied teen highway deaths as a senior high school project is dead after a crash.Eighteen-year-old Shannon Nicole Adkins graduated last spring after turning in a report about the risks facing young drivers on the mainly rural roads of Johnston County.


Nine months ago, on New Years Day, Yaser Abdel Said, an Irving Texas cab driver, is alleged to have shot to death his two teenage daughters, Sarah, age 17, and Amina, age 18, to death. The FBI is now saying that the murder was an "honor killing."


Veronica Gomez was killed when the car she was in hit a tree along Sheridan Road. The driver of the car ran off but was later caught by an off-duty officer.


An influential auto safety group is calling on states to raise the minimum age to get a driver's license. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says states should raise the minimum age from 16 years old to 17 or 18. The group argues it's about saving lives, noting car crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers.


With the goal of imitating the actions from the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto", a teenager used a knife to stab a taxi driver to death. He now faces capital punishment, i.e. death penalty by lethal injection.
